What will you do?

With everything going on in the world we live in today, I think it is very important that we start looking at the root of our issue's. Everyone is always so quick to jump on A band wagon, or get in an uproar when a story hits the news. Now I know everyone will not agree with all points of how I think butt that is fine.

I believe we really need to start investing in the well being and the development of our children, change the way they see the world and foster opportunities that may steer young minds to think in a way they never saw possible.

From A young age I've always had A fascination with young children, only A few people know this story. Ma never spoilt me and call it the Jamaican in me I've always wanted to work.  One Christmas vacation I believe I was about 12, I worked with my aunt at A liquor store she owned at the time. One day while at the shop a man came in, he was carrying a newborn baby under an umbrella on a hot day, begging for money to take care of the baby. I started to have a conversation with the man asking him the story of why he had the baby and where the mother was. It was evident to me, even at that young age that the man was not equipped to take care of a baby, and that the little girl was and would suffer.

I'm not quit sure what took over me, but i asked the man if i could have the baby, and as crazy as it seems he willing agreed to turn over his infant to a pre-teen ( of course I told him I lived with my mom and we could take care of the baby but he didn't even verify)!!!!! That evening when I got home, I told mom the story and to my surprise she was all for it! She even came up with a plan, because you know even when trying to do good you have to  protect your interest! next thing you know the guy is an undercover con man and he tries to extort money and threaten to take back the baby. So we drove, Even tho we lived blocks away from the store and made an agreement to a clean cut give up.

That Christmas my money didn't go to the latest Cd's and fashions as I had planned but, formula, diapers and other baby arrangements. Hannah as we had renamed her spent a few months with ma and I, but after not being able to get her birth papers and ma receiving negative advice from friends we got in contact with a biological aunt who was able an agreed to take care of her and returned her to her family..... We miss you!

I went to Southermere prep, a little school located behind saint Andrews in the heart of Halfway tree ( think times square just not so nice). I remember doing a soup kitchen, Ma and I provided the soup with the help of a few other parents and my teacher Mrs. Williams found a church in cross roads we mad posters about the free soup weeks before, the crowd was nothing I'd ever seen before people even came with their own containers some just the bottom of a plastic 2 liter soda bottle . My heart broke that day when we ran out of soup.

over my lifetime I've done a bit but i feel like I've been too relaxed lately as far as contributing to this world I live in, the world my future sons and or daughters will be part of. So for the moth of August I will be collecting donations as well s saving $ myself for a donation I will make to a primary school in Jamaica this September I hope to get the support of all my friends but I'm going to be paying close attention to my friends that are here that use to live in Jamaica.

I remember the struggle I wasn't so much A part of it but ... I know it's real and it still exists do you?

So we're at Friday right? Friday was an all out ladies night, about 10 of us met up at Element 86  (a gentleman's club) in New Kingston, for their male review.

We spent a few hours there and cut Kerry's cake, after that it was off to pulse for an party called MVP Fridays. I ended up and another party on some rooftop in Waltom park ( I saw bounty killer). Needless to say it was a packed, long, fun filled night! We were definitely up till the sun came out and this is what we had on.

It was just too hot for me all weekend (that's my excuse for all this leg exposure) lol I wore a pair of cut off high waisted shorts that i got from a boutique called hot topic in the Bronx and a alter top  from H&M. My curly fro is the go to look as i said the nights are just too hot in the summer so a twist out n tease and I'm good to go!

I went into Victoria Secret's a few week's ago during their semi-annual  sale I got this cool product, it's called honey sweetheart, instant hair highlighter. Hats off to Vikky! Just a few quick sprays and you have a head full of highlights and it washes right out.Not only does it work great but I've also found that I can use it on my whole body for a soft shimmer!

Here's a part of the group from the night we're a Pulse an out-door nightclub. As you can see color selections are definitely bold and bright this summer we're taking advantage of POP colors...and I love!

Versace Versace and no one can stop me lol I like her fun comfy look!

Check out the nail polish I love love love the colors this summer!

Now let me just make this clear they get American cable in Jamaica so they see the same styles and trends that we do as u can see, our island girls have their buns high to the sky just like here in the states.

2 CHAINS!!!!!!!! Yes our men wear their shades in the night too...outside.....in the dark lol for the life of me.

I love both these ladies looks. wish I could rock curls like that but my natural hair does not survive a JA club night! I'm still in need of a pair of ripped acid jeans definitely on my to get list for this fall

This look is so  bright and sexy yet cool. The cotton scoop neck top is a light airy layer while the shocking color spandex bondage skirt dresses up the outfit and rounds up her curves.

Cant forget about my men. These men suited in blue are giving me a refreshing feel, like they instantly cool me down on a hot night! LOL looking good fells.

Well that's a cap of Friday night hope you enjoyed  a  look into a little bit of Kingston's night life

Quick Trip's Fashion Cap

Here's a quick overview of my club wear, fashion picks over the weekend on my last trip in Jamaica.

Keep in mind its still at least 80* at night. Not to mention when you go inside some of those parties, the place is packed wall to wall, then the music hits you, and you start kotch..... I mean dance lol...and yes they have ac in Jamaica.....to tell the truth theirs may be better than the one's up here...it be cold as hell in island grill! ( A local fast food restaurant), but back to my looks ...I had 3 nights on the town here's what I choose to wear, as well as some of the fashion I saw while out  . Let me know what u think !

Thursday night we checked out Famous a new club in the Portmore area

I wanted to keep cool so I wore a nude lace cropped top,  nude control tube top (H&M) and a pair of jean shorts with lace detail to compliment my top. Gold hoop earring, a 2 finger cross ring and a gold cuff bracelet were my accessory selection to set the look (Couture Bit's N Pieces) . Ready to dance I made sure I wore my comfy brown/ multi-color wedge heel.

I can't comment on her outfit too much but I like the edgy look and her makeup is on point.

These guys are what you call dancers, so their style tends to be a bit different ( pull up to the scene with they ceiling missing) notice the man in the middle no that's not a hat!! It's a dyed circle........

I am not 100% sure of this guys name so I won't guess, but once again look at the guy in the middle he has tattooed his EYEBALLS black !!!!!!!!!! Now if that's not a fashion statement!

Light, airy and cute.

People are always amazed when I tell them that we have Chinese people in Jamaica!! Well now u see it for yourself not only are they there, they get DOWN too!

Well  I started out going for the whole weekend but I believe I've given you an eyeful in a night, we'll do Friday in my next post. Goodnight folks off to dream about Jamaica.

Oh wait one last one before I go
Kotch; The Jamaican equivalent of twerk lol, verb, to whine your waist in a sitting position lol.......

So what do I do ??!!?

Just getting in from my Sunday treat of dessert and a drink :)

 I checked my stats...my 1st blog got over a 100 views today.....THANKS!!!!
So I decided to post another blog

So right when I thought I was ready to dive into my RN program and get it out of the way, my life changed, I started thinking differently and like 80% of college Americans, I changed my major, and to that of business.
So I am currently back in school doing and entrepreneurship certificate and a business management degree AT THE SAME DAMN TIME!!! However I do hold my LPN license and work for an agency (who will remain nameless) per Diem, which at the moment is very rare.

So WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!? Well.. I retail products in Jamaica, I'm working on a new product line (which you will slowly see unfold). I bartender/serve at the Cheesecake Factory, I'm always perfecting a craft this year it's sewing and I'm a performer like actress/singer. No I'm not busting a bar right now lol maybe later.........

Damn girl you do a lot!!!!...uh so does Trump the Simmons Beyonce, puff daddy...I mean the list goes on greatness comes from hard work! I'm not scared

In spring of 2012 I fell in love, it didn't work out (awwwwww) but that's OK.I said that to say this, I started taking very frequent trips back and forth to JA,and being the biz woman that I am I saw an opportunity to start selling fashion items. People always wanna know what I'm wearing and where I got it from so why not sell it to them!!!! DUH

I teamed up with my best friend of over 15 years Kereish and started selling apparel and cosmetics and I guess Saturn and Jupiter are aligned JK!!!

(Kereish and I am Friday's in new KNG, Jamaica)

I know I'm blessed cause we've been doing quite well.So yeah that's what I do when I don't per Diem, I'm at cheesecake, and if I'm not doing that or taking a class, I'm shopping in the city's  wholesale district and online for my stores, and working on new concept ideas for my developing companies..... I am determined to work for myself!!!!
Click on the link below to check out my Facebook page for my store and get a look at some of the fashion we carry and great deals. (plug in!!! lol)

Welcome to my Jamerican Journey

So............. Ive decided to start a blog. Not sure why I've waited so long, but here it goes. I'm assuming (which I'm gonna do a lot of ) since I'm new to this the best way to start would be to tell you a bit about myself.

Becca Mac is the name, I'm twenty....something lol born in Brooklyn New York. I am the 1st generation of American (African American/ Jamaican American) whatever you wanna call it in a huge  Jamaican family.

Raised by my awesome grandma who i call maaaaaa lol, when ma retired we packed up in new york and headed to Jamaica!!

It was in the heart of Kingston that I attended prep and high school, and lived the best teenage life ever!!! before heading back to the states where I once again landed right back in New York

I love LIFE, music, dance, art, fashion, fun, sun, rum, my true friends and my 1 of a kind off the wall crazy family (they are gonna kill me).

I am ambitious, corky and take delight in watching others create a lifestyle and make a living out of what they love to do while doing the same myself. I urge everyone to be aware of their world as well as whats going on in areas that affect you. I'm very involved In my community and am a firm believer in supporting the minds and development of our youths for the better of our future society.

so after being back in New York for over ten years I've decided to make a big change....................... I'm moving back to Jamaica!!!!!!!! (is she crazy?!?!?!) yes slightly.

I like to make my blogs short and sweet when possible. My blogs will cover fashion, lifestyle, business, and my personal transition from New York to Jamaica

So don't ask me "girl why the hell are you moving back to Jamaica". Just follow my blog and watch  my............... ............................ Jamerican Journey ..............
